Getting Started at the library 2017: The Basics

A guide for new students at the University of South Wales

JOINING THE LIBRARY

You automatically become a member of the library when you receive your Student ID Card as part of the University registration process.

You can access your library account through the My Account link on FINDit, the library catalogue.

Use your USW student number and IT password to log into FINDit.

HOW TO FILMS

These short films will help you manage My Account, find books, ebooks and journal articles via FINDit. 

PASSWORDS

To access all the online facilities you will need to set up your IT account using the Self-service Account Administration Service (SSAA) 

Your password will expire after 120 days - to reset it use SSAA.

Ask at the Information & Service Desk in the library if you need help with IT.

Password  -  your normal password

You can log on to eduroam at any participating institution across the world. Find out more on the eduroam website.

PRINTING

Printing, photocopying and scanning

Your print account is created automatically as part of your Student IT account.

You can add credit to your account in the library kiosk or on online via the SSAA. 

You can print from your own devices

Printing Charges

 5p  – A4 black and white
10p – A3 black and white
20p – A4 colour
40p – A3 colour

Scanning is free
