Finding moving images online

Films or clips can be viewed online via playback software, like Windows Media Player, Real, VLC or QuickTime. Alternatively, they can be used in presentations like PowerPoint or web based resources.  The following sites can help with the search for moving images:

Free to air television - on demand services

UK 'free-to-air' broadcasters provide access to programmes from their on demand services, usually for a specified time period (minimum 7 days).

Television and Radio Index for Learning and Teaching (TRILT)

Television and Radio Index for Learning and Teaching (TRILT)  is a comprehensive online listings service for UK television and radio designed especially for educational users.

  • Listings for more than 560 TV and radio channels with data from 1923 onwards.

  • Archive helps users identify both forthcoming and already broadcast material to support their work.

  • Data is available ten days in advance of transmission.
