It is a 60-item self-report questionnaire subtitles “The Way I Feel About Myself”. It is suitable for use with young people aged 7-18 years. Respondents are provided with statements that express how people may feel about themselves and asked to indicate whether each statement applies to them by choosing yes or no. Most respondents can complete the scale in 10-15 minutes.

This measure consists of 10 items measuring negative affect and 10 items measuring positive affect. There is also a 53-item version of the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS-X; Watson & Clark, 1994). Used to assess global and discrete emotions, the items consist of adjectives describing each affect and are rated for how much they were experienced in general on a 5-point Likert scale (1=not at all and 5=extremely).
